The young children from the northern region of Israel, who have experience firsthand war and forced evacuation, oftentimes develop a sense of disconnection, fear and loss. A supportive, professional and above all a stable therapeutic environment – particularly after school hours – is a crucial component of their ability to process trauma and reestablish a sense of security, and of their long and short-term healthy development.

The therapeutic child care treatment programs operate after school hours. These are educational therapy programs operating in collaboration with the municipal education and welfare units. The program is aimed at elementary-school children, offering a safe space with enrichment activity in the after-school hours until early evening. The children receive a warm meal, assistance with homework and take part in educational, social and creative enrichment activities. The purpose of this program is to support the child’s emotional, social and educational development, and provide an impactful after-school framework.
